Year 2’s Pirate day – reported by
Emma
On Thursday year 2 had a pirate day.
You had to come dressed as a pirate. First we played pass
the parcel. After that we played pin the parrot on the
pirate, and then it was time for our first course – Fish
Jelly!
Soon Mrs Newton wanted me to have my
face painted. I wanted a parrot. Then it was main course –
Rotten apples! After lunch we played pirate corners, I won.
I wish it never ended.
Well
done to Wilson for winning sports day!!!!
On Tuesday 29th June the children in year 1
had a visit to the Hirsel farm at Coldstream where they
enjoyed an assortment of activities.
One of the many highlights of the day was the farm walk in
which we got to pick poppy flowers and peas to eat. The
weather was lovely for a picnic lunch and even the highland
cattle could be seen feasting on lush green pastures. We all
made a pizza to bring back to school and feasted on them for
our tea that evening too. We learnt which crops make some
well known foods and explored their textures also. It was a
fantastic day and hopefully we will visit again in year 2.
