Announcement

12th January 2023
Dear All,

It is with heavy hearts that the Governors must inform you that Mrs Robertson is to retire as Head Teacher of Tweedmouth West at the end of this academic year (22-23).

This morning Mrs Robertson will tell the children that she is retiring when the school are all together. The Board of Governors are now tasked with looking in to a replacement Head. We hope this will be straightforward given that schools in this area are under consultation in relation to their structure. Should it be straightforward then Northumberland County Council will support the Governors in the recruitment and we will be putting in place a time table of actions required in the coming week or so.

Whilst we were initially very sad to receive this news, we also happy for Mrs Robertson who will enjoy her retirement - as she told us, she has never known anything but school! I am sure you will agree that Mrs Robertsons leadership is immense and she will be a huge miss to the school however, she has also led her team to have the values she holds and this is visible throughout the school. We hope you will join us in best wishes to Mrs Robertson who, of course, intends to give her all until her last day.

Kind Regards

Julie Riley
Chair of Governors
