September Plans - Please Read

Dear Parents/Carers,

As you will be aware, from July 19th we will be moving into Step 4 of the Government’s roadmap. This means that in September we are planning to return to a more normal way of operating in school.

My apologies – there is quite a lot of information here!  But I realise you will be beginning to plan your working hours, and childcare arrangements now.

When we return to school on Wednesday 8th September 2021, these will be our arrangements:-

The main gate will be opened from 8.45. You can then take your child round to the classroom door, where they will be welcomed in by the class teacher. (The children have a 9.00 start to the day, so you can arrive at any time between 8.45 and 9.00)

Breakfast Club will be operating as usual from 8.00 – come in through the front door.

At the end of the day, the gate will be opened at 3.00, and you can meet your child at their classroom door at 3.15. If you have more than one child, please collect the youngest first.

Tweed Tigers will be operating every day after school from 3.15 – 4.15 – 5.15.

Please follow the link to our website to see our school uniform policy.

On your child’s field day, please send your child to school wearing their field clothes. They are to arrive in school wearing dark plain joggers or tracksuit bottoms or leggings and plain red T-shirt and plain red hoodie or sweatshirt or cardigan.  Please bring wellies, waterproofs, extra socks, hat, scarf and gloves in a separate bag.

On your child’s PE days, please send your child to school wearing their PE kit. They are to arrive in school wearing dark plain joggers or leggings or shorts and plain red T-shirt and plain red hoodie or sweatshirt or cardigan.

Please do not send your child into school with large logos on their clothing.

T-shirts, sweatshirts, cardigans and hoodies can be purchased locally with our school  badge on, but this is not compulsory.

Trainers or sandshoes are to be worn on field and PE days. Please only send your child to school with laced up shoes if they can tie their laces independently.

Autumn Term Field Days:-

Year 1 - Tuesday

Year 2 - Friday

Year 3 - Friday

Year 4 - Friday

Autumn Term PE days:-

We will no longer be operating a bubble system, so the children will meet each other at breaktimes, lunchtimes and assemblies.

There are still some measures that we will continue to follow in school:-

  • Regular handwashing
  • Well ventilated rooms
  • Extra cleaning of surfaces/toilets etc.
  • Staff will take regular lateral flow tests
  • Staff and visitors may choose to continue wearing face coverings in school.
  • These are all measures which show consideration for others, and follow the advice for sensible, common sense procedures

In the event of a positive Covid case in school, the child/staff member will self-isolate, but school will no longer be identifying close contacts.

We will be closely following Government and Local Authority guidance, and if anything changes during the summer holidays, we will obviously contact you before our return.

We are all very much looking forward to welcoming the children back in September, and our hope is that life will be a little bit more normal by then.

Thank you

Mrs Robertson
