Letter to parents

Dear Parents/Carers,

We have got to another Friday – well done everyone!

As today is our VE Day Bank Holiday, I would like to take a moment to reflect on some of the biggest events in our country’s history.

World War II united people together in a way they had never known before. I know some of the children have been finding out what life was like from family members. My Mum tells me many stories of her childhood, and how her life changed.

The Coronavirus will be one of these big events which we will be talking about for many years to come. But, just like the War, it is bringing out the best in people, and uniting us, even though we have to be isolated.

We are living through history here, and one day children will be studying this as part of their history curriculum!

I would like to say a huge thankyou to everyone who is caring for someone else; whether they are dropping off shopping on someone’s doorstep, checking up on people with a phone call or a video chat, or just giving a friendly smile and a wave.

Keep safe, and look after each other.

Warmest wishes

Anne Robertson
