Literary Festival

The Berwick Literary Festival is one of Berwick's annual Autumn Festivals.

During September, school children took part in the Festival's outstanding Schools Programme, featuring story telling, illustration and creative- writing workshops
From October 18-21, words will be brought to life in an exciting feast of talks, workshops and events.
There's something for everyone in this year's programme - for the young and the young at heart, creative-writing enthusiasts, poetry lovers, history and politics interests...and so much more.

A few highlights: 
- An exhibition of the children's work resulting from the Schools Programme is available to visit in the Guildhall during the Festival weekend
- Acclaimed Scottish poet, Liz Lochhead is joined by saxophonist Steve Kettley in a beguiling show mixing poems, monologues and music
- Former Government Minister, the Rt. Hon Douglas Alexander, shared his political insights to talk about 'Trump, the Transatlantic Relationship and the Rise of Populism'
- Children's author Liz Flanagan, will be sharing her new book Dragon Daughter and inviting you to imagine a fantasy animal of your very own.
- Writer and Foreign Correspondent, Christopher Jennings, introduces his new book: The Third Reich is Listening: Inside German Codebreaking 1939-1945
