Weekly Newsletter 18.33.2022

18th March 2022

Dear Parents/Carers,

This week in school, we have had 1 child with a positive Covid result, and 3 members of staff. Their self-isolation will continue into next week, and I am very grateful to the rest of the staff who are working so hard to keep everything going as normal.

You may have read about, or have first-hand experience of, the increased transmission rates of a new variant of Covid-19. They are high across the County but very high in the Berwick Community.

Could I please ask you to remain vigilant, and to let us know if you or your family are showing any symptoms (bad headaches and sickness seem to be quite common).

There is lots of good news to share with you this week too.

Back in November, when we were collecting for the Poppy Appeal, we raised £277 – quite an achievement for a school of our size. Many thanks to all who bought a poppy.

We took a team of Year 4 children to Longridge Towers School this week to compete in the Cross Country competition. Despite the pouring rain, they ran a fantastic race across fields and through woods, and were a real credit to our school. The girls Gold medal was awarded to Tweedmouth West, and we are very proud of the whole team.

On Thursday, the children in Reception celebrated Holi with a paint party. Great fun was had by all – please look out for the pictures.

Today is Red Nose Day, which we are marking with Crazy Hair Day. Thankyou for all your efforts making the children look splendid – what imagination! A lovely end to the week.

We wish all our absent staff a speedy recovery.

Have a lovely weekend and take care everyone,

Mrs Robertson
