Weekly Newsletter 20.5.21

20th May 2021

Dear Parents/Carers,

Year 4 took part in some virtual cricket this week! Via zoom, they competed against 12 other schools, in fielding, bowling, batting and running skills. The event may not have been as it would usually take place, but it was still fantastic! Well done to all the Year 4 children who took part.

We are aware that the traffic outside school is busier now that the new one way system is in place. We are going to trial a new system at drop off time in the morning, initially with our youngest children. We hope that this will ease the congestion on the pavement, whilst keeping to our Covid measures.

From Monday May 24th the system for Reception and Year 1 will be as follows:-

The Year 1 gate will be opened at 8.40 (please remember you can arrive any time up to 9.00) The Year 1 parent and child will then walk round to the Year 1 yard (the route will be marked out) Please wait in the yard observing social distancing, and Mrs Anderson will let the children into the classroom from 8.45. Parents will then leave by the same route.

The Reception gate will be opened at 8.55 (please remember you can arrive any time up to 9.15) The Reception parent and child will turn right, and wait in the yard (the area will be marked out) Please wait in the yard observing social distancing, and Miss Huntly will let the children in through the Breakfast room door from 9.00. Parents will then leave by the same route.

If you have children both in Reception and Year 1, please go to Year 1 first just before 9.00, and then round to Reception.

The procedure will stay as it is now at hometime.

We will trial this new system next week, and iron out any difficulties.

Thankyou to all our families for your continued support. We are doing everything we can here at Tweedmouth West to keep everyone safe, and we really appreciate your co-operation.

Take care everyone, and keep safe.

Mrs Robertson
