Weekly Newsletter 3.12.21

3rd December 2021

Dear Parents/Carers,

What a week this has been!

Storm Arwen caused so much damage in our area over the weekend, and I know many people are still suffering the effects. We were very fortunate here, and there was no structural damage, but I know this is not the case for many other schools. This is a really difficult time, and several schools have had to close, either because of storm damage or loss of water/power.

Here at Tweedmouth West, we have several members of staff who are still without power at home. I would like to say a huge thankyou to them, as they are still working and doing their very best for our children. I am very proud to have such a dedicated team.

You will know that we were due to visit the church next week. Unfortunately, they have had quite extensive storm damage, and the building is not safe for us to visit. We will still be singing our Christmas songs, and adding them to the film, but we will do that here in school.

This week we have had 2 confirmed Covid cases. The families are doing the right thing and self isolating at home. We wish them all a speedy recovery.

You will have seen the latest Government guidance, and that the wearing of face coverings is mandatory once again. Thankyou to all our families who are already very considerate when speaking to members of staff, and are both socially distancing, and wearing face coverings. We are still doing everything we can in school to keep our community safe.

Take care everyone,

Mrs Robertson
