Weekly Newsletter – 8. Autumn Term 2020

19th November 2020

Dear Parents/Carers,

As you will know, we have had another confirmed case in school, and unfortunately this has resulted in the need to close 2 bubbles. Let me explain the reason for this.

The bubble which has had the confirmed case has to close, and this is following government guidance. Those children and the close contacts need to isolate now for 14 days.

As with many Berwick schools, we have several members of staff who have their own children here as pupils at Tweedmouth West. Because of this, I am really sorry to say that the Year 1 bubble could not be safely staffed, and so has to close too. The children in Year 1 do not need to isolate – they just cannot be in school at this time.

These are very difficult times for all of us, and I really appreciated your quick response this morning. I did not find out that the test result had been positive until 8.30, and those of you who needed to keep your children at home did so immediately. Thankyou so much for that.

Those children who are at home will have communication via Seesaw with their teachers, and I would really encourage you to do as much as you are able to keep the children’s learning going. They have made so much progress since they came back to school, and we want to maintain that as much as we can.

All the children will be back at school on Wednesday 2nd December.

We have 3 bubbles still in school, operating just as normal. We will keep going with everyday school life in the best way we can.

Thankyou all for your support, patience and kindness to the staff here at school.

Please take care of yourselves, and keep safe.

Mrs Robertson
