World Book Day March 2016
4th March 2016
Tweedmouth West helped to celebrate World Book Day by welcoming local author and illustrator Helen Stephens into school.
World book day is a day that we set aside each year to celebrate books, reading, authors and illustrators.
Helen spent the whole day working with all the children in our school.
She made a special visit to each class to share her new book ‘How to hide a lion in School’. We feel very privileged here at Tweedmouth West not only because this book has not been published yet but because it features our school, some of our children and even a former member of our staff.
Children gave Helen their opinions on her book and even suggested possible changes to the vocabulary!!
We wish Helen every success with this book. We certainly loved it and enjoyed many laugh out loud moments.
In addition to this every member of the school, children, teaching and non-teaching staff brought in their favourite book.
Mrs Newton had a very busy morning photographing each person individually with their book. We now have a wonderful album to share our love of books with.
Here are a few from the album.
