Please see below an explanation of how the Queens Platinum Jubilee (extra Bank Holiday) is to be incorporated into the academic year. To clarify I have attached our updated School Terms Dates which include this additional day.

Extra Bank Holiday in 2022/ Queen’s Platinum Jubilee 2022
The above is to take place on Friday 3rd June 2022; this has resulted in the late May Bank Holiday being moved from the Friday(3rd) to Thursday 2nd June resulting in two Bank Holidays falling in that week, which for our Schools is in half-term.
We have been waiting for confirmation from the DFE to allow schools to change their academic year from 195 days (190 being taught) to 194 (with 189 being taught).
This has now been agreed and our Berwick partnership of schools have decided together on the best day for our schools to close, causing the least disruption.
Please note school will therefore be closed on Friday 18th February 2022.
