Weekly Newsletter 9.9.22

Dear Parents/Carers,

The children have made a really good start to the new term – but I think we will all sleep well this weekend!

Our new Reception children have settled really well, and are enjoying their days with Mrs Anderson.

The death of Queen Elizabeth is something that lots of the children have been talking about today. This is a point in history which we will be discussing in class, and watching as events unfold over the next few weeks.

I am very aware of the financial pressures we are all under at the moment. The cost of living situation, fuel prices and the changes in government mean a very uncertain future.

We will continue with our usual fundraising and charity events in school, but we will only ever ask for a donation. We will be very grateful for any contribution you can make, but I certainly do not want to add to anyone’s anxiety.

We will be setting up a collection for the Berwick Foodbank in school, and any donations can be dropped off at school. Mrs Hodgson has sent out further details.

I know that many people have had a change in circumstances. If you think you may be eligible for Free School Meals, please apply (even if your child is currently in Reception, Year 1 or 2 and currently receives a free meal)

We are now looking forward to next week, and getting on with life in school!

Take care,

Mrs Robertson
